Labor Day 2011

I thought I would take a little vacation from my blog series and turn my thoughts to Labor Day. Many of you are on vacation hopefully enjoying a long weekend, perhaps that last trip to the beach or to the cabin in the mountains or maybe just grilling in the backyard (that’s what I plan to be doing). Labor Day typically marks the end of summer vacation and the start of the school year. Over the Labor Day Weekend for the last 45 years, we have watched Jerry Lewis host the MDA Telethon which has raised nearly $2.5 billion dollars since it started. 2011 will be the first year without Jerry as the host. During Labor Day week we will see the end of the NFL preseason and the start of the NFL regular season. The first regular season game will be played Thursday night, September 8, in Lambeau Field (wish I could be there) with the Green Bay Packers, winners of the XLV Super Bowl, hosting the New Orleans Saints, winners of the XLIV Super Bowl. Go Saints! See you next week.
